One breezy Sunday, Chellise and I took a drive out to Ft. Tilden with Carina and Ramon to make some portraits. We had never been to this part of Rockaway before, and were excited to explore the old army installations, weird dunes, and abandoned beachfront properties that now lay blanketed with sand and graffiti. We all felt so cloaked in the calm of the excursion. There was nothing to do. There was no where to be. As a matter of fact, I don't think I ever felt the shoot actually begin, nor draw to an end. At some point, we all just found ourselves back in Bushwick, eating cajun food down the street from our apartment, as if another ordinary Sunday had passed right under our noses.
A few weeks later, the digitals were edited, and the film came back from the lab, providing us with some tangible evidence that in fact something extraordinary HAD happened on our little jaunt to the beach that day. The proof of which is down below. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the lovely Carina + Ramon. Let us all bask in the subtlety of a gorgeous couple enjoying a lazy afternoon.
