You know what's refreshing? When couples don't go overboard with their nautical themed weddings (no pun intended). Themes are a delicate balance, tightrope walking a thin line between throwing up on itself and sticking the hook in the cheek. This means that sometimes, the bride and groom need to take a step back and allow the big decisions they've made (i.e. venue, food & season) to speak and live alongside their personalities and passions. This is exactly what Vanessa and Andrew accomplished with flying colors. They chose Liberty Warehouse, a venue in Brooklyn right on the water with a spectacular view of the city, to host their nuptials with their closest family and friends. They didn't need a 1000 ft of rope and anchors on every table to make it feel "at sea". They had old schooners naturally passing by the Statue of Liberty right out the window of their reception! They didn't need to have sea shells on their wedding cake, they had Han Solo and Princess Leia cake toppers, because that's what they wanted. Anyhow, I love these two so much. Chellise and I have known them for a while, and we're so thrilled to have had our friendship grow even closer thru this process. So congrats to the happy couple, I give you, Captain Andrew and Vanessa McInnes.
