It's all about March 18th. That would be the date of Meghan's birthday, Mike's Birthday.. oh... and the date they chose to get married. Having gotten engaged on New Years Day, this decision only left them with 3 months and 18 Days to go big or go home. With true fervor, they executed a simply magnificent and effortlessly elegant affair for their family and closest friends. To house the event, they chose the Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn, with Reynard's providing the catering and The Ides furnishing their glorified cocktail party. Meghan decided to wear her grandmother's wedding dress from three quarter centuries ago and looked absolutely stunning. To further the recycling of her family's cosmos, she had medium format pictures taken of her to mimic the image she has of her grandmother in the very same dress. But it didn't stop there... I'll just keep the ball rolling and tell you that her grandfather was their officiant. Sweetest thing in the world. After the ceremony, everyone took the elevator up to the cool blue walls of The Ides for cocktails, hors devours, dancing and birthday cake. I don't know any other way of describing it, but it just felt so... New York. Meghan and Mike knew just how to throw a party that fit their personalities. It was upscale but tuned down, fancy but warm, and nothing was overdone or underdone. It was all just right. Congratulations Meg and Mike, and thanks for giving us the privilege of being your wedding photographers.
