They were introduced by their mothers and the rest is history. They decided to marry right off the south eastern coast of Connecticut on a SMALL island wading in the sound. You drive through this residential neighborhood and are eventually confronted with a strand of hair mistakenly called “the causeway” that connects the islanders to the mainland. Driving through the milk of that foggy day made it all the more beautiful and terrifying. Finally, we placed our car in a grass field and exhaled, then inhaled the stillness of this hidden New England gem. Standing at the center of the island, you can turn 360 degrees and see water in every direction, surrounding the 5 or so houses that inhabit this speck of land. We entered “the big house” where the ladies were getting ready. It was incredible. All the good kind of bad wallpaper and outdated but coveted turn of the century furniture one would hope to come across in a house of this stature. I felt the ghosts of 10 kind hearted grandmas knitting scarves. I felt the match making mothers basking in their good witch wisdom… And I felt the sky join us for a day.
Congrats you two… so honored to have been a part of this.
