Is CMP Right for You?
Not every photographer is right for every couple. And honestly, that is a good thing.
Chellise Michael Photography is for couples who care about art, photography, atmosphere, food, fashion, music, connection, and the strange little moments that make a wedding feel real.
We are Brooklyn-based wedding photographers serving New York City, the Hudson Valley, the Catskills, and select destinations. Our work is documentary, film-forward, candid, nostalgic, and anti-cliche.
We photograph on analog film and digital, with a focus on real emotion, guest energy, atmosphere, movement, light, and images that feel lived-in rather than overly staged.
You may be a good fit if...
You want photographs that feel candid, emotional, stylish, intimate, funny, strange, and alive.
You appreciate analog film, but not because it is trendy.
You want the expected photographs, but you do not want the day built around a shot list.
You care about your guests being photographed, not just the two of you.
You want calm guidance without feeling managed.
You trust photographers with a point of view.
You want your wedding documented with taste, care, humor, and emotional intelligence.
You are comfortable investing in photography as one of the central parts of how your wedding will be remembered.
We may not be the best fit if...
You want every image to feel perfectly posed and controlled.
You are looking for someone to copy a Pinterest board.
You prefer very bright, airy, traditional wedding photography.
You are mostly shopping by price.
You want the entire day run from a rigid shot list.
You are not comfortable trusting the process once the day begins.
There is nothing wrong with wanting those things. It just means we may not be the best match.
About the investment
Wedding photography with Chellise Michael Photography is a considered investment.
Our collections begin at $[X,XXX], and most couples invest between $[X,XXX] and $[XX,XXX], depending on coverage, location, film, albums, and the shape of the wedding weekend.
We are not the lowest-priced option, and we are not trying to be.
That investment reflects the experience, communication, analog film process, in-house editing, planning support, travel logistics when needed, and the care that goes into making the work feel consistent, human, and personal.
If photography is one of the things you care about most, we would love to hear what you are planning.
About trust
The best work happens when there is trust.
That does not mean you need to know how to be photographed. You do not.
It means you trust us to read the room, guide when needed, protect the energy of the day, and notice the things that matter before they disappear.
We are not interested in turning your wedding into a photo production.
We are interested in the people, the feeling, the energy, the humor, the quiet moments, the party, and the parts of the day you did not know you would want to remember.
You do not need to have everything figured out
You do not need to know exactly how many hours you need.
You do not need to know how much film makes sense.
You do not need to know whether your timeline is realistic yet.
That is part of what we help with.
But it does help if you know this:
You want photography that feels personal, artful, candid, and connected.
You want to work with people you trust.
You are comfortable investing in experience, taste, and care.
You want to be present at your wedding, not pulled out of it all day.
If that sounds like you, reach out and tell us what you are planning.
How do we know if CMP is the right fit?
We are usually the right fit for couples who want documentary, film-forward wedding photography with a strong point of view. Our CLIENTS care about real moments, analog film, guest energy, atmosphere, creative imagery, and feeling present at the wedding.
Do you work from a shot list?
We always make space for the important family groupings, details, and expected wedding photographs. We are not a fit for couples who want the entire day run from a rigid shot list or copied from another wedding.
Do you photograph on film and digital?
Yes. We photograph weddings on both analog film and digital. Film is part of our long-term process, not a trend or afterthought.
What is the typical investment?
Wedding photography starts at $[X,XXX]. Most couples invest between $[X,XXX] and $[XX,XXX], depending on coverage, location, film, albums, and wedding weekend needs.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes. We photograph weddings throughout New York City, Brooklyn, the Hudson Valley, the Catskills, and select destinations. Travel is bundled into proposals as one flat rate when needed. Local weddings within roughly 60 miles usually do not require added travel fees, which includes NYC, Brooklyn, and much of the Hudson Valley.
